Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Opportunity

MillTech Recruitment is working with a growing consultancy looking to recruit a Highway Design CAD Technician to join its Midlands office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded CAD Technician to work on a variety of highway and infrastructure projects, contributing to designs from initial feasibility through to construction. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, develop your technical skills and play an important role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

The Role

As a Highway Design CAD Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Producing detailed highway design drawings and technical plans.
• Supporting highway schemes through feasibility, design and construction stages.
• Liaising with utility companies, service providers and other project stakeholders.
• Assisting with technical submissions and securing approvals from Local Highway Authorities.
• Ensuring drawings and designs meet relevant standards and project requirements.
• Managing your own workload and working collaboratively with the wider engineering team.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a proactive approach, strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in highway design.

You’ll ideally have

• Experience in a Highway Design or Civil Engineering CAD Technician role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience producing highway design drawings.
• An understanding of highway design principles and relevant UK standards.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Confident written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently, manage deadlines and contribute effectively within a team.
