Position Overview
HCA Healthcare UK operates a network of private hospitals, outpatient centres and specialist healthcare facilities across London and other UK locations. Its clinical teams include Healthcare Assistants who support nurses, doctors and multidisciplinary teams in delivering patient-centred care.
The position is designed for an experienced Medical Assistant or comparable clinical support professional transitioning into the UK healthcare environment. The successful candidate would support day-to-day patient care, clinical preparation, observations, documentation and the smooth operation of clinical services while working within defined competencies and organisational protocols.
The role may provide exposure to different specialties and clinical environments, with opportunities for further training and professional development. HCA UK also operates bank opportunities across its London, Manchester and Birmingham facilities.

Key Responsibilities
Support nurses, physicians and multidisciplinary clinical teams with patient care.
Record and document routine patient observations accurately.
Prepare patients, clinical rooms and equipment for consultations and procedures.
Assist with examinations and delegated clinical procedures within competency.
Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinical records.
Support infection prevention, patient safety and confidentiality requirements.
Assist patients with comfort, mobility and general clinical needs.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and clinical colleagues.
Escalate relevant patient concerns to the appropriate registered clinician.
Maintain high standards of professionalism and patient experience.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Clinical Assistant or comparable patient-facing healthcare professional.
Practical experience supporting clinical or medical teams.
Strong understanding of patient confidentiality and safe clinical practice.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Willingness to undertake UK-specific training and competency assessments.
Desirable
Experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic or primary-care environment.
Experience with observations, ECGs, phlebotomy or venepuncture where appropriately trained.
Experience with electronic patient records or clinical systems.
Relevant healthcare qualification.
Previous UK healthcare experience or familiarity with NHS/private healthcare procedures.
Additional clinical certifications relevant to the position.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: £28,000–£34,000 per annum, depending on experience and role level.
